I'm currently using SCCM 2012 for windows endpoints so I don't really need an all-in-one solution like Filewave, just looking for something simple for macs. I'm mainly looking for a way to image the computers, manage preferences (similar to group policy) and deploy/manage installed software.
I'm reaching out to find if there are any similar non-profit organizations that have found a way to image and manage Apple hardware (iOS included if possible) without having to spend too much money. They all had their strengths and weaknesses but were all ultimately too pricey for our school district to afford with current budget constraints. I've also demoed JAMF Caspersuite, Filewave, and Airwatch. I've tried reinstalling the software, the OS, and even different hardware including a brand new mac mini, the problem seems to always return.
For a while now we haven't been happy with deploystudio as the server seems to have to be restarted constantly to keep it working. We've been long time users of deploystudio and currently don't have any software deployment or management solution for macs. I'm a network administrator for a K-12 Public School District.
